In Mid Nov. 2010 I became the excited new owner of the Spaaah Shop and Day Spa on Main Avenue in Durango Co. The wonderfully tranquil spa has been beautifully remodeled taking advantage of the stone and brick interiors of the old buildings. Our positive professional staff offers multiple modalities of massage, facials and nails to pamper the most discriminating individual.  Our retail shop features a variety of skin care product lines, delightfully scented bath soaps and lotions, and the best mineral make-up available: Bare Minerals. We have also added colorful, top quality Vera Bradley bags and the adaptable Lindsay Phillips shoes. Look for hand knit scarves this fall, Vera Bradley's luggage, and scarves by Lindsay Phillips.

April Lopez

has worked at the Spaaah Shop for 6 years.  In 2005 she graduated from the Denver School of Massage Therapy where they taught 15 massage modalities.

Cheryl Pagano

has been doing massage since 2002. She graduated from the Southwest School of Massage Therapy here in Durango. She specializes in Swedish massage as well as sports, pre-natal and hot stone. She enjoys doing additional spa treatments that include salt or sugar scrubs and mud wraps. She believes not only is massage good medicine, but that is allows each client to become more aware of their own body and mind. Take time to come in and experience the healing properties of massage.

S. James Santistevan CMT, RMT

is a former graduate and professor from Trinidad State Junior College where he began as a student earning his certification in massage therapy and Associate of Applied Sciences in Holistic Health degree. James then took over as an adjunct professor of Business Mastery, Qi-Gong Health Studies, and Reflexology (one of his specialties) before moving to Durango. He believes that true healing comes from addressing the entire Body, Mind, and Spirit triad, whether working with clients once, or long term to help accomplish their wellness goals.

James loves working at our day spa and specializes in reflexology, Swedish massage, myofascial release, Psych-K facilitation, trigger-point therapy, and sports massage.

He is a current student at Fort Lewis College studying economics and political science and also works as a Taekwon-Do instructor in Durango. Stop by and experience a unique and relaxing treatment with him at the Spaaah Shop and Day Spa.

Desiree Carter

has been here for 6 years. She does waxing, facials and nails. Des is the fastest waxer in Durango. If it is your first time trying out a Brazilian or any type of wax she can get you through it with minimal pain.

Her favorite OPI colors are INK, Lincoln Park After Dark and You Don't Know Jacques. She lives in Durango with her wonderful son Desmond who recently started Kindergarten and thinks he is a superhero.

Vanessa Chavez

originally from Albuquerque  NM has lived in Durango for 6 years with her eleven year old daughter. She completed her Cosmetology degree in 2011 from Pueblo Community College. She also works at Trimble Hot Springs where she helped develop their nail service offerings. Come in for a pedicure with Vanessa- her favorite service to do!
